[ The words register for all of a moment before slipping away -- make it through -- and then Logan ignores the man at his side in favour of looking at the girl in his arms instead. He holds Jean like he did when it happened years ago, says nothing as he presses his face to the top of her head and weeps, and he cries and cries until there's nothing left.
The rest is routine. Every time he dreams this nothing changes, and nothing has changed still save for the additional character in the man who sits by him. Logan stands, taking Jean with him because his tears have dried (but he shakes still, wrought with the aftermath of sobbing), and starts to walk. He knows he's got to bury her before someone comes to the island and takes her body away, touching her with hands that don't love the same way Logan does. ]
I'm going to bury her. [ His voice is soft, drained. Logan is just saying this because he's not sure the idiot still seated on the ground isn't going to try and stop him from moving.
Not that he has to do much, really -- Logan's legs stumble and he falls, and he clutches Jean all the while as if protecting her from the impact. Just because she's dead, and just because she isn't real, doesn't mean he's going to stop honouring the memories he has of her.
