For whatever reason, she hadn't been expecting him to break the silence and speak aloud, even if he tried to bother her. It was almost welcome, the sudden noise, even if it wasn't all that loud or obvious. Her throat felt dry, like if she spoke back, no sound would come out.
But it did, of course.
"Not a whole lot to be happy about, I guess." She'd gone from one hellhole to another, and she couldn't see a light at the end of the tunnel. The only upside here?
The sun actually came out.
"No, just not exactly sure where to go yet. There seems to be a lot that's already taken, but I'm used to that, too." People didn't like to share what they felt like they had claim over.
