TEST DRIVE MEME
You wake, standing. A thick, muddy red dust coats your skin and clothes - it sticks to your tongue and blocks your vision. Inhale and it chokes you, exhale and your breath puffs out in front of your face in a transparent maroon cloud. It tastes of copper, tangy and harsh. Movement is difficult, every limb tingles and aches. Look to your left, your right. Evenly spaced in each direction stands another person indistinguishable in every way from the next. You're disoriented and lethargic, unable to grasp onto a single thought. A pinprick of light blooms ahead and grows steadily larger; a door has opened.

Hands grip your wrists, push at the small of your back and guide you out of the darkness into a room with four walls and a thin, sagging ceiling. The plaster is peeling, the air is musty, and the floor is slick. White plastic piping juts up from the center and curves into multiple spouts, clean water flowing in uneven streams. Those hands pull your clothes off and clear the dust from your body, redress you in handsewn jumpsuits.

A finger is pressed to your lips. Kind eyes meet your own and a single word is whispered - hush.

Led out of the room in a line, you’re taken down a short hallway and into another, much larger room. There’s a woman waiting for you there, a child hugging her leg, and a cloth bag in her hands. She reaches in and pulls out a device, passes one to each of you. Once finished, she begins to move both hands in graceful gestures, a language. One of the people who helped you lifts their device and the screen lights up, tracks the woman’s hands. Letters appear on the screen and you understand the device’s purpose. She tells you what she knows and it’s not much.

This world is haunted. Noise attracts them, so it is not allowed. Communication is through body language, soundless writing, and the device. She tells you that your feet must be light and your mouth never used. There is a community outside these doors, where you can survive together, but only if you agree to one thing: complete and total silence. You'll have time to talk it over. Acceptance allows you to journey outside. The ground is marked in pathways of sand, lining the paths to each building and everywhere in between. You notice that the locals hold their devices always, aloft and glance to it often. It will not vibrate or make a sound to signal a message.

Notices appear. The bulletin board feed lights up so you can read about the history. Rules. Guidelines. Feet on the sand and never anywhere else. To open a door you brush your fingers along the hinges - oiled and you may enter. If not, take the brush from the can sitting nearby and coat the metal with the dark liquid. You're to settle into your new home.

On the first of April, small piles of dust with brightly colored eggs at the center will spring up over night. After a few hours the eggs will begin to hatch and out will come the smallest and brightest bunny-like creatures (the only notable differences from regular bunnies are the colors, size, and that they make no noise). They're friendly and immediately attach themselves (bond) to the first person to pick them up. One of the natives calls them "peeps" because they don't make a sound. All with unique personalities, the creatures can be found nibbling on the dust and needing no other form of food, and will shy away from any and all water sources.

If, however, any of them get wet - there will be a sudden and brief rain shower at noon - the creatures fur will turn black and they will begin attacking the others that didn't get wet. Stopping them is key, and the black creatures will either dash away from the community if given the chance or will need to be stopped.

OOC: All characters can keep a Peep! Any color! They are palm-sized and never grow larger than an adult hand.

[Richie was totally caught off guard when he was brought in, through the line, and handed this weird tech thing. It's so much fancier than those portable computers he's seen advertised on TV. He's afraid, and he doesn't like it. So what does he do? He retreats to his greatest defense mechanism: attention seeking. And he can do this to an audience?]

[Richie walks along, his hands in his pockets, down the path, feet slipping while he adjusts to trudging on sand everywhere instead of the more sturdy paved streets of Derry. A bunny-like creature darts ahead of him and he stumbles a little to avoid stepping on it. Is that... a rabbit? Why is it blue?

And then he notices they're springing up out of those weird eggs that have been dotting the sides of the pathway.

They seem friendly enough. A couple stop to sniff his feet while he stands amazed at the rainbow of cuteness around him. He stoops down and scoops one up in his hands. They're adorable little things. He'd coo at it and ask it what the fuck it was if it was safe to do so, but he has to be quiiiiet, so... He just pets it with a grin on his face.]

[ It's real hard to get Peter Parker to just stay quiet. Sure, he's had his moments: when his parents dropped him off at his Aunt May and Uncle Ben's place, he refused to talk for about a week before they finally had him chatting. In Midtown High, he was a little more observer and a lot less participant, which meant a little less talking and a hell of a lot of listening. He kept his head down, took his pictures, skated in the park, tinkered in the basement.

But then he donned the red and blue spandex and - well. It was like opening a floodgate of dumb jokes and ridiculous quips and it was fun. Also hard to stop. Turns out Peter Parker is something of a talker and nervous babbling is a Specialty and it only took the right key to unlock that door. Lucky him, right?

When he first opens his eyes and tries to choke the dust out of his throat, it's also with an exclamation of - ] What is this stuff? What's happening -

[ Of course it sounds a lot less word-y and a lot more cough-y, so there's that. And honestly, he's not feeling too great, his arms and legs feeling weak and noodley (well, noodlier than usual) and he only sees an opening door before he's being led somewhere dark and gloomy. Great. Perfect. His favourite type of door. ]

Uh - can somebody - [ He starts to say, but then there's a finger pressed against his lips and the rest of the sentence kind of trails off into a smudgy sound like eggspaindis??

Now he's here with a device in one hand and a freaky spine-tingling feeling that buzzes in the back of his brain and refuses to relent. This place is exuding bad vibes and he doesn't have to have spider senses to feel it. But this can't be real. (Sure.) Who is 'Them' anyway? And why hasn't anyone fought back? ]

This is a joke, right?

[ He's in Creepy Wonderland.

Yep. Great. He's solved the riddle. Somehow Peter has landed in Tim Burton's craziest, wildest dream because maybe he'd never seen Edward Scissorhands, so you know, he watched the movie and now he's having some kind of soulbond moment with Tim. There are colourful eggs and little bunnies coming out of them, and when he approaches - as you do - one of the pink ones comes right up to him, nose twitching, looking up at him with those dark inky eyes.

It's kind of cute.

Peter bends down to pick it up and gives it a little scritch around its ears. And when he puts the bunny back down and begins to walk away from the collection of eggs, it follows him close behind, never missing a hop or a step.

Turns out the only soulbonding happening today is the bond between (Spider-)Man and Bunny. ]

[ Frankly, Majima wasn't so sure about this Easter Bunny thing -- survey said that most of the unnatural wildlife around here was borderline dangerous. On the other hand: bunnies, what could possibly go wrong? ]

[It feels like a joke. Like a dream, maybe. Brain damage from their last mission? Hallucinations from some sort of neural overload she somehow wasn't aware of? She argues at first, because everything they're telling her sounds ridiculous, and anything she mentions—the PPDC, the kaiju, Raleigh—gets brushed off. But finally, she acquiesces, if only to get out of the room.

Mako finds herself wandering the sand paths, feeling oddly vulnerable in without her drivesuit. She argued for it, silently, but was overruled. Apparently the armor plating was far too risky. Her dog tags, edged in silicone silencers and tucked into her jumpsuit, were apparently deemed safe. The natives are watching her carefully, and as they told her, everyone is quiet. She pulls the first person she can aside, pulling out her gifted device with a frown. It takes her only a second to type out a quick question and hold the device up.]

Were you born here?

[After the initial culture shock, Mako forces herself to deal with it, as the Marshal raised her to. Of course, just as she thinks she's starting to adjust, something else strange happens. Namely, brightly colored bunnies.

For a moment, Mako thinks she might be hallucinating all over again. Then one of them hops up to her, stopping to sniff at her feet, and she melts utterly, crouching down, clearly torn between scooping it up and leaving it alone.]

[She's one of those people that has to be kept confined inside a room for awhile before she agrees to shut the hell up. Vanessa doesn't like being told what to do, nor does she like confined spaces or anything resembling imprisonment, but after a long stretch of stubbornness, she finally agrees to their terms.

Keep her mouth shut, and she can leave. Should be easy enough, right?

Wrong.

She's glowering in one of the house living rooms, knees tucked into her chest, avoiding the gaze of anyone who wanders by. It's a miracle she doesn't growl at them, though as the day starts to wear on she realizes more and more that everyone is in the same situation around here, hiding from an enemy that doesn't want to die.

She knows what that's like. Sadly, it doesn't help her trust any of them.]

[Picking up a pet wasn't what she had in mind when she woke up this morning, but that seemed par for the course around here. But when the tiny, cute, pastel green bunny had hopped over to her, even she wasn't heartless enough to not pick it up.

And now it was following her everywhere. Of course.

She peers at it over her shoulder as it hurries to keep up with her, audibly sighing.]

If it weren't for someone telling him that Margo was here, Seth would've kept fighting everyone who tried 'helping' him. Well, all the guys who put their hands on him anyway. It might've been a day from what his girlfriend told him but it felt a long longer to him. He even wondered if he'd been the one to arrive first and they dragged her into Reims just so he'd cooperate.

There was some guilt when he gave that idea some thought. Enough guilt that he kept an eye out when someone new looked unsettled. She didn't have bruises or cuts the way he had (or that he noticed) but given the jumpsuit and how she kept eyeing anyone that passed the couch she sat on, he decided to speak.

"You look about as happy as I did after leaving the welcome wagon," he quipped dryly with something of a smirk. They lucked out to be in a soundproof house where they didn't have to text for conversation. Maybe she'd prefer that after he opened his mouth. "You takin' up the couch here now? Usually there's a blonde out here."

( so, of course he goes out the first chance he gets, scouting around to see if he can figure anything out for himself which, of course he doesn't but he does find one of those brightly-colored eggs before it hatches, a pretty sort of robin's egg blue that doesn't have any of the associated speckles, but catches his attention all the same. he picks it up, passes it back and forth between his hands until there's a telltale cracking sound, and he startles so suddenly that he almost drops it. but doesn't!

he does drop to a squat, though, placing the egg on the ground before him and watching at it continues to crack and crack until it finally gives over its contents, a bunny-looking thing the same color as its shell that looks up at him almost expectantly and lance scoops it up immediately, just barely managing to keep from making any cute noises at it because he ( hopefully ) knows better than that.

it doesn't make the scene any less ridiculous.

[ This whole idea that he was trapped here in some weird place not attached to any place he knew was absolutely ridiculous, moreso than the idea that it was seemingly haunted by things that relied on sound to attack. Mostly because he was used to the idea of things of a supernatural nature being a threat of some kind.

It was easy to agree to the whole 'being silent' thing, stepping outside and looking a bit sour because they'd taken his usual coat and regular clothes. Leaving him in some ridiculously tacky jumpsuit that completely exposed his wings that he kept folded close to his back. Yukie nearly allowed a snicker to escape his lips when he thought that the people who had to have dressed him in this jumpsuit must have had a hell of a time trying to get it to work with his wings, which explained the slight chill he felt from what was probably from some kind of holes cut into the back.

After a few moments, he stared at the sandpaths before smiling a bit to himself. 'Keep to the paths, right? Well. That's fine and all, but I can think of something better.'

So anyone who was nearby would be granted quite the sight, of his wings spreading out in all of their glory, spanning out almost four feet in length on each side. They were a golden brown color that had tinges of actual gold showing through in the light, and it was clear that they were rather well taken care of; if the way he suddenly took off up into the air with ease was any indication.

If there were any doubts about them not being real, this would likely dispel them. ]

[ Yukie's seen a lot of things in his life but pastel colored bunnies that don't make a sound were definitely a first. He knelt down to pick up a small pale blue one that soon nuzzled into his touch when he made to pet it, staring up at him with those big, imploring eyes.

Don't look at me like that. Come on.

He nearly put the little bunny down but something in him caved and he sighed wordlessly, putting it on his shoulder instead and he went about his normal business as he'd intended on. It was only around noon that people would catch him outside just after the little rain shower, one wing curled up and poised over his head for cover and having made sure it covered the little bunny nestled close to his neck.

It kind of ruined the tough attitude he held about him, his guard lowered enough that he couldn't let go of the bunny that had attached itself to him. He was really quite glad nobody could take pictures of this right now. ]

[ Peter Parker is still trying to get used to the whole ... not being back home, not knowing anyone, not recognizing anything about this place, and also being forced to wear this really gnarly jumpsuit. After the dust and the coughing and the silent warning not to make any noise (to which Peter replied with a resounding 'Okay, no problem! Yeah, yeah, I can do that!' almost immediately after and then shut himself up with both hands), he's standing here now, in front of a door, with his new phone in-hand, scanning the bulletins.

He looks to his screen, then he looks to others around him looking at their phones, and honestly its not really unlike being on the subway ... if the subway was totally quiet and didn't screech along the tracks and also didn't send him home ...

Home.

He hates that he misses Queens, but ... he misses Queens. He misses Mr Delmar's sandwiches and he misses his aunt and he misses playing LEGOs with Ned on the weekends. What is he even doing here? How did he even get here?

God, if he starts crying this is really going to be the actual worst. Better to push this door open and see what's on the other side. ]

(You know, when Simon fantasized about being sucked up into a movie, he usually thought about Harry Potter or like, Star Trek. He'd even had a few dreams where he had been Captain Kirk's personal confidante and that had been pretty awesome.

What wasn't pretty awesome was waking up with the horror-movie equivalent of a Lush clay bath bomb exploding in your mouth and all over your face. Things he'd never recommend? Fucking that. Maybe he should have been freaking out at least one hundred percent more than he was, but it was so shocking that he just dumbly moved through the motions of getting pulled into this... whatever the hell this was. Be quiet or die. Okay. So extreme hide and seek except for instead of pretend dying you actually die. That's cool. Totally cool.

Except, you know, for the part where it wasn't cool at all. But he gets one saving grace: a device. He taps into that sucker the moment he's cleaned up and ready to go.)

(So maybe Silent Hill 2.0 isn't so bad. What can be bad about a place that had ornate Easter eggs hatching into friendly, rainbow colored bunnies? Simon does the only sane thing anyone in his position would do when finding a cluster of soft little baby rabbits fresh hatched outta the oven: he lays down on his back and lets them take over Mt. Spier.

He's soon covered in at least ten sweet little pockets of anthropomorphized (???) joy and he has literally never been happier. Rationally he realizes that he is still in this Big Spooky Place where he'll die if he talks, but what's he supposed to do about being afraid when he has a baby rabbit on each cheek? How is he ever supposed to be afraid again? He can feel every negative feeling he's ever had leaving his body. His pores are cleared, and the sun is shining. He doesn't know who to pet the most so he just is content with rubbing them all at intervals. Though the moment he notices some feet coming into his line of sight, Simon will slowly sit up, making sure to catch the canary yellow and pastel pink bunnies from falling off his face.

Aw shit. Playing with ten rabbits is cool. So whoever is right there, Simon just grins up and holds up a purple bunny like: how about it, my dude? Wanna pet this dank bunny? You know you want to?)

[ This is... different. Not so much the coming to in another place, that's happened to him before. The Ingress has taken him to dozens of alien worlds. But the fact that he's so disoriented right now, that it's so hard to move -- and he'd been in his armor last he remembers, but it's gone now. Almost frantically he calls out in his mind for Delta, and sighs in relief when the AI responds. Dust billows around his face and he blinks it away, trying to see if there's anyone or anything else here with him. But without his armor, his trackers, his sensors, he's basically blind. Then, in his head,

York. There are others.

Carolina?

Stay hidden.

The introduction to this place raises more questions than it answers, honestly, but York decides to comply. Is there any other choice? The device he's been given is as silent as the locals, but it seems lots of people are speaking on it.

And so he wanders, Delta scanning the network and relaying him the rules of the world, the announcements others have made, far faster than if he were to try and read it all himself. It also frees him to wander -- obediently along the sand paths -- and take things in. The most disturbing fact of all this, to him, is that he didn't recognize anyone in his orientation. Now that his head is clearing he's certain Carolina and Wash had been at his side before he'd suddenly woken up here, so why did he show up alone? The first person he comes across gets flagged down, and he types a message on his device. ]

Hey, I'm looking for a few people. Can you help me?

[ When York exits his new 'home' for more adventuring the next day, his eye catches on a little herd of what look like tiny bunnies. As he makes his way over, a glowing green figure appears at his shoulder, what looks like a tiny man in body armor. It makes no sound, but York glances at it and they seem to be communicating.

The term is 'warren.'

That's the holes they live in.

It applies to both.

He leans down and reaches out a hand to the animals, smiling a little when one comes over and hops directly into his palm. He can't speak to it, obviously, but it seems to enjoy when he straightens up and pets it gently.

It'll need a name, and so he's sort of curious if it's a boy or a girl. Which is why whoever comes across him will find him holding the little bunny creature on its back, peering at its belly as if staring will help him figure out what he's looking at. A veterinarian, he is not. ]

[Mako is, for the most part, going about her business, but then she spots the glowing hologram by his shoulder, and she pulls up short. The rest is... Well. Mako can't say anything, obviously, but she's giving him a bit of a side eye.]

[Dustin just barely manages to remember to hold in his squeal of excitement when he sees the peeps, because—well, come on! They're cute. And they're definitely not going to turn into an adolescent demogorgon and eat his cat, he's sure. Just in case, he asks a couple natives first, but once he's got the go-ahead from them he enacts a Plan to get one for himself. Just one! Hopefully.

Mostly this just means he's trying, fruitlessly, to get their attention—flicking a little bit of food their way doesn't seem to work, and putting out a small bowl of water where he's noticed them feeding apparently has the opposite effect. But you know what, that's still not gonna stop him. He scoops up a little bit of dust and kneels down to one that seems to be around, grinning a little bit to himself. Hey, little guy, he's got some food here.

A minute later, he's got a tiny little peep feeding out of the palm of his hand, and he looks like he's having the actual time of his whole life right here, right now.]

i. ARRIVAL

[ he can't breathe (and it has nothing to do with the dust currently clogging up his throat). his heart is beating a mile a minute, like it's trying to pound its way out of his goddamn chest. there is a tingling sensation in his hands, a cold sweat is coursing through his entire body, and if that wasn't enough, he feels light-headed and disoriented.

tony stark is on the verge of a panic attack and it's sincerely not the right time. completely inappropriate, if you ask him.

—but extremis is not kicking into gear like it's supposed to. at a moment like this, his suit should be coming out. it should be instinctively seeping out of his pores and adorning him like a protective shield at the first sign of danger. why can't he bring his suit out? he can feel it inside of him, but it's not responding. his breath is short, rapid and unsteady. he needs to slow it down. he can't afford to lose control right now, right here — wherever the hell here is.

his mind is racing, attempting to gather all the pieces of a puzzle together, trying to make sense of where he was before and how he got here. okay, he was with dr. lisk and pepper in broxton, oklahoma. she was trying to convince him to drop an electromagnetic battery back into her chest so she can return to playing rescue — christ, maybe it is better that he's here instead — and then... nothing. absolutely nothing.

he's starting to get really sick of this missing memories bullshit.

the sensation of some sort of device getting shoved into his hand snaps him out of his musing. tony has (thankfully) managed to get a grip. he's still unnerved and tense, but he has momentarily flipped the switch on panic mode. as he reads the instructions on the screen, he nods his head in agreement. sure. great. monsters attracted by sound. this is not the weirdest thing that's happened to him. if anything, this could be considered another tuesday — except his suit is useless.

it should not be dead (and, yes, on some level, he realizes this shouldn't be the thing that's making him royally freak the fuck out but here we are.)

he isn't going to get any answers being locked up in this room, so it's kind of a no brainer to play by the native's rules for now. he'll be able to gather more intel outside and maybe pinpoint what's interfering with his neurokinetic link to the iron man suit, but first: ]

She hesitates briefly. She got into an online argument with someone claiming to be Iron Man. She's not looking to be talked down to again. At the same time, he's her hero. She wants to make contact with him. She wants to help him the way he's always helping everyone else. She psychs herself up enough to send a message as she watches him wander. It doesn't take a genius to figure out the nervous, but friendly looking teenager with a device in hand is the one talking to him. In case it isn't obvious, Kamala offers up a timid wave when he looks her way.]

I'm afraid I don't-- [Fingers pressed to their lips, Diamond makes a confused noise, frowning at the...explanation of sorts. These were humans, right? Dia looks fascinated and finally does fall silent to listen. The whole 'feet must be light' thing makes them wince a little--they're literally like 700 pounds of solid diamond, so that might be...difficult, but. Alright. Sure. Dia, with their iridescent hair and all, sticks out like a sore thumb already. They'd honestly be a little surprised that noise would attract these creature things and not their looks alone.

The device is turned over, handled delicately because Dia's half-afraid of breaking it trying to press buttons. The first couple messages that go out are mostly just one-letter texts, or a couple keysmashes as they get used to it]

Can we still talk in here? I'm afraid being quiet might be difficult for me... [Not because of talking, no Dia can handle not doing that. It's just that the absolute silence will make the minute noises, ones that sound of rocks grinding together once in a while when Dia's 'flesh' rubs against each other, even more pronounced. She keeps being reminded of Anya, of course, but she doesn't have time to deal with that pang of grief and so pushes it all to the side in order to focus on the problem at hand.]

It's cute you think I can't handle myself.

Instinctively, Danny uses his free hand to shield the bunny while he finds someplace to duck for shelter. As he's checking on his little furry friend, something black comes running, and Danny can see that it's ... Not right. And it's coming right for the little bunny. Holding it out of harm's way, Danny kicks the black one away - sorry little buddy - and looks around for anymore incoming attacks, or for any help. ]

[ This is the second time that Elena's woken somewhere strange, under even stranger circumstances. None of this would be all that difficult for her to cope with except — that silence isn't just outside, it's inside as well. Her head is devoid of the presence of the rest of the Nest, her broodmates not even distant flickers she can't reach. They're just gone, as if all five of them were...

She doesn't fight the hands that clean her up, her disorientation so pronounced that she's more worried about hurting someone with her vampire strength if she tries. It's not until she starts to be ushered outside that she protests, quickly typing out on her own device an explanation about her condition: if she encounters direct sunlight, she'll die. Thank goodness the woman takes her at her word; she's allowed to stay there until sunset, and it's only then that Elena ventures out into the community, following the posted signs and taking care with her steps. Enhanced vision helps her see the sand pathways with no trouble as darkness falls, and she'll do her best to make her way somewhere safe without incident. (Which would be so much easier if she wasn't hungry.) But if she finds someone else outside, perhaps having a far worse time than her — well, it's in Elena's nature to help anyone and everyone who needs it. ]

[ Elena spots those strange eggs in the early morning and isn't at all as surprised as she should be when they begin to hatch. The bunnies are adorable, to be sure, the bright colors making her smile as she watches them from a window, safe from any stray rays of sunlight. She watches some of the others pick up the tiny creatures and for a moment she wishes... But the gnawing hunger she feels disgusts her. She's come a long way in coming to grips with being a vampire, but to look at something so sweet and innocent and wonder what it tastes like—

The run changes everything though. From that window she watches their colors and manner change, the black ones attacking the ones still retaining their color. Whatever the water had done to them, it was going to be a massacre if someone didn't do something about it. And she's so hungry.

Pulling at the sleeves of her jumpsuit to cover as much of herself as she can, she takes a deep breath, opens the front door, and uses her vampire speed to dash out across the open space, staying along the sand and reaching down to grab two of the black bunnies before they can attack a tiny green one. She ducks into the shade of a house, the skin on her face and hands red and close to blistering as she crouches low and, with a shifting of her facial features, sinks elongated teeth into the squirming creature and drinks. ]

1. Elvis has entered the building.
Really he ought to be surprised or panicking or well, just have some sort of reaction other than a sigh that's promptly followed by a cough. He's perplexed, sure, but as far as 'weird' goes this isn't anywhere near the top of the list. The darkness that embraced him was comfortable and despite the strangeness of the situation he had found it very comforting. That was, until he felt the light coming.

That's when the panic sets in.

"No. No no- wait- I- nnnmmph-" The instincts honed over centuries of being averse to the light screamed to run, to retreat back into the shadows, to get away from these people. Light. Warning. Self-immolation imminent. Alert. Fire. Stop. Stop stop STOP

The squirming and writhing and struggling eventually ceases when he didn't burst into flames. He's even putting up with the manhandling and going along with this sit down and shut up act, sort of half-waiting for his abductors to shove a list of demands in his face. Instead he gets a futuristic cellphone-looking thing that's mostly screen and no clicky buttons. The information overload is nice, but he got as far as the big bad demon outside that doesn't like noise and decides that's all he needs to know.

Not content to keep his light-sensitive eyes glued to the screen or just move in like he belongs here, Angel with his invincible hero complex tries to leave to tackle this problem head-on. Quietly and stealthily.

[Angel is hardly the first, nor the last person here to think they could solve the problem of the Sound Eaters. There are so many heroes here, ones used to being the savior, the problem solvers, the people who fix the unsolvable problems.

And yet... they've all failed. Faith included, although her confidence in being a savior isn't nearly so full of conviction and surety as it is with Angel. Or Buffy for that matter.

Seeing a form in the distance walking with a stride, Faith finds herself turning to look. It's someone on the warpath, looking for trouble, clearly. But that's not what gives he the most pause. ARRIVAL

[Daisy is among the others in silence, eyes darting between the person 'speaking to them' and the others that seem just as lost and in shock as she does. She recognizes that the woman is using sign language, but has no idea what she is saying. Until she looks down at the device given to her and it is translating her words in such a way that she can understand what she is saying. Her heart is racing in her chest and the urge to talk is growing, especially as she’s told she can’t.

Clutching the device tightly, Daisy looks over to the person next to her after they are asked whether or not they agree to these rules. That they must stay silent if they want to venture outside. Either way she’s risking the unknown, but Daisy knows if she doesn’t agree, it would bother her more. She needs to know what’s out there. To know where she is, and how she’s gotten here. Someone has to hold the answers.]

EXPLORING

[Over and over again recently, Daisy has been put into situations against her will. Walking along the sand path, as others are doing, it’s probably easy for them to spot that she is new here. The way she keeps looking around in confusion as others are busy using their devices to communicate with each other, or using sing language. Hand going to her neck when someone openly stares at it, Daisy can feel the gauze still there covering the healing wound from Fitz taking out her inhibitor.

Spotting someone by themselves, Daisy goes up to them and opens her mouth to ask a question before remembering the agreement. Waving her hand to get their attention, Daisy chews on the inside of her cheek in frustration as she is forced to use the device to communicate with them. Typing quickly she then holds her device out to them.]

How long do we have to keep this up for?

[Eventually she ends up in one of the houses, where there are others. She isn’t sure what to make of the house. A lot of the furniture doesn’t match, and it’s not much warmer in her than it is outside. Taking a step back in surprise when someone comes around the corner, and they seem just as startled, Daisy presses her lips together in slight frown after almost saying she’s sorry out loud again.]

Sorry. Didn’t mean to scare you.

How long have you been here?

[Once again she holds her device out for them to read, watching their face as she waits for them to reply.]

This whole place was weird, but somehow it got even weirder when these random eggs came out of nowhere. She comes across them just as they start to hatch in watches in surprise as a bunny appears from one of them.

That’s definitely not how it works back home.

Hand reaching out towards it carefully, Daisy feels safe enough to pick it up when it sniffs her hand but doesn’t try to bite her or move away. She tries to put it back down after a few minutes, but when she starts to walk away, she notices that it follows behind her. Afraid of it getting stepped on, Daisy picks it back up.

It’s not long until she realizes that others have come across these weird looking bunnies too.]

Excellent observation. I think the soundproofed houses are keeping the death toll low. Either that or we're insanely lucky. Take your pick.
